▲ Freshmen are given an elaborate entrance ceremony at the newly built gymnasium
On February 25th, Jeju-NU held its 2015 entrance ceremony at the recently built gymnasium. It was the first time that the facility has been used for such an event. In the past, entrance ceremonies have typically taken place at the auditorium at Ara Muse Hall; due to an overcapacity of freshmen, faculty and guests, past events have required multiple ceremonies. However, with the availability of a larger venue this year, the entrance ceremony only had to take place once.

There are also newly constructed facilities ready for students this year like the College of Applied Life Sciences Third Building and the new College of Veterinary Medicine complex. Currently, Jeju National University’s main library is being expanded as well.

This year, there was a total enrollment of around 2,500 incoming undergraduate students and 741 incoming graduate students.

While gift vouchers were handed out last year for freshmen who attended the ceremony, this year, motivational books were handed out such as The Joys of Studying by Kang Myung-Gwan and Kim Yeol-Gyu, Books are Axes by Park Woong-Hyun, and Story Writing by Jun Me-Ok.
