Jeju-NU announced another reorganization of the general education course requirements for next semester. The Institute of Liberal Education announced that they will reorganize a total of three general education sections which includes, learning basics, affiliation basics, and humanities requirements.

They will also no longer be classifying foreign language course ‘Chinese Characters I and II’ as a foreign language requirement.

They will also abolish the free elective courses and divide the science requirement courses into natural science and engineering fields. The amount of credits we have to earn in this section will also be reduced from ten to eight credits.

Lastly, humanities courses will be expanded from four to six sections. The least amount of credits students can take will be raised from six to eight credits.

The expected effect of this reorganization is improvement in the quality of general education. With Jeju-NU reforming their general education courses each year, the school must make sure that students can understand the reason for these changes.
