From November 19 to 21, the 6th annual Jeju French Film Festival (Jeju FFF) will take place at Jeju Film Culture & Arts Center, in Tapdong-ri and hosted by the Jeju International Culture Exchange Association (JICEA).

The theme for this year’s festival is “art”, and 11 full-length films and ten short films will be screened for four days.

The opening ceremony will start from 6 pm, Thursday with the opening film, Clouds of Sils Maria, directed by Olivier Assayas and starring Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, and Chloë Grace Moretz. The film is about a veteran actress who must confront an unsettling reflection of herself and her past as she agrees to take part in a revival of a play that started off her successful acting career.


The screening of Clouds of Sils Maria will be followed by a CineTalk, from 8:35 to 9:15 pm, with guest speaker, Ida Daussy. A CineTalk is one of Jeju FFF’s highlights; it is a time where both the audience and invited guests can share their insights to a particular film in a casual and open setting.


La Famille Bélier
, directed by Eric Lartigau and will be screened on Sunday, at 1:00 to 2:55 pm. Sixteen-year-old Paula Bélier with a God-given gift for singing is faced with a dilemma when her deaf parents opposes of her desire to be a singer.

All movie screenings are free. Films are screened in French and English (may vary depending on film) with Korean subtitles.
