On November 30, it was announced that two teams from Jeju-NU Global Teachers University (GTU) were rated excellent in their performance in English teaching at the Janpan-Korean English Teaching Mock Contest: I am a Global Teacher (IGT) held at Tokyo Gakugei University, Japan.

Jeju-NU was the only institution with every entrant winning an award. The Jeju-NU teams also earned the highest scores during evaluation and received the excellence award, sponsored by the President of the National Research Foundation of Korea.

The “Difference” team with team members Kang Myung-Hoon, Yang Ji-Hee and Kang Byung-Kwon, from the Department of Elementary Education, taught the ‘Making and Playing the Simple Instrument’ mock class.

The “I.C.E” team with team members: Ko Ji-Hyung, Lee Hyun-Jung and Ko Da-Won, from the Department of English Education, taught the ‘Volcanic Creation & Effects with Grandma Seolmoonde’ mock class.

Other universities that participated in the contest were Kyungpook National University, and two teams from the host university in Japan.
