The name of the first session was ‘CODE BLUE: CPR on Earth’ planned by team ‘ChungBaram,’ and was concentrated on environmental problems such as climate change, the COVID-19 crisis, and more. In this session, several things were pointed out such as overall indifference to carbon emission, people’s denial of the severity of climate change and the catastrophic impact it will bring. Also, the necessity of young generation’s participation in the political field was reviewed.

The second session was “New Normal for Youth: Education in the Post COVID-19 Era” prepared by team ‘SNU Normal.’ Various aspects of the education paradigm during and after  COVID-19 were discussed. Professor Lee Hee-su gave a presentation named ‘Pain to Prosperity.’ In the presentation, he stated that if technology level is higher than education level, society undergoes pain, but if education level is higher, the society meets prosperity. In addition, he emphasized “the best vaccine is ecological transformation” and that online learning cannot be a substitute for in-person learning but is a complement to learning. He concluded with a comment, “Liver longer than New Normal. To survive is the wise thing to do.”

The third session was “Voice of Youth about Settlement in Jeju” by team JeongjuHang. In the intro video, problems that make it difficult to settle in Jeju Island were suggested such as lack of job opportunities, inconvenience of public transportation, lack of cultural infrastructure, etc. Speaker Park Gun Do shared the current situation about Jeju-settlements. First, people, especially 20s, leave Jeju. Second, Jeju’s hired rate is higher than South Korea’s average but the quality and the diversity of jobs are poor. Third, the lack of cultural and art opportunities are insufficient.

Toward the end of the session, Ban Ki-Moon, former Secretary General of UN, made a surprise visit.
