Jeju National University has been designated as a pilot university for ‘2021 KF Global e-School Korean Language Training Project.’ This project is managed by the KF (Korea Foundation) and aims to improve the lack of Korean language teaching manpower abroad. Accordingly, JNU will be providing online Korean language classes to foreign universities for one year in VOD (Video on Demand) forms: Korean language grammar, phonology, morphology, orthography, Korean literature, basic and intermediate Korean language, etc. As well as JNU, there are total six participating universities: Sookmyung Women’s University, Honam University, Kyung Hee Cyber University, and more. 

JNU will meet the growing demand of Korean language classes by improving the proficiencies of Korean language teachers, in cooperation with the KF and JDC (Jeju Free International City Development Center). The university has invited twenty-one foreigners from Russia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and India, who are 
either graduate students majoring in Korean language or Korean language instructors. Since they arrived in Jeju last September, JNU has provided an ‘Intensive Language Training Program for Korean Language Learners in the New Southern and New Northern,’ and will be providing it until February next year.

The teaching staff participating in this business varies in major, such as grammar, morphology, etc., and have extensive experience teaching Korean language and Korean literature.
