I took a trip to Singapore on January 14th, 2007. I know that Singapore is a squall area where it often rains. On the day I arrived in Singapore, it was raining all day long, with hot and humid weather as usual. My favorite attractions in Singapore were Jurong Bird Park and Sentosa Island. Jurong Bird Park shows all different kinds of exotic birds that we haven't seen before and their performances to the visitors who sometimes feel as if they were in a scene of the movie Jurassic Park. The park is so huge that it provides tourists with a monorail for them to go through the park in convenience. However, it took a whole day for me to cover every single place in the park, even with this vehicle.
Jurong Bird Park, which is always crowded with tourists from all over the world, is fantastic. You will not want to miss it when you visit Singapore.
You can go to Sentosa Island by cable car. The panorama of Sentosa Island from the high cable car was so amazing that I said 'wow' unconsciously. A huge Merion statue first welcomes its visitors at the entrance of the island, and it presents a fabulous sight of emitting light form its mouth in the evening time.
There is an aquarium called 'Under Water World' and it puts various kinds of creatures and performances on view. I took a picture with a huge dolphin after the show.
I headed to Siloso beach leaving Under Water World behind. Tall palm trees lined up along the sandy plain are easily seen there. The glow of the setting sun was magnificent. I enjoyed swimming and taking pictures against red sky and blue sea, and I ell in love with fruit 'Mango Steen' at first taste. I left quickly to see a magical Sentosa show. The show was so gorgeous that I was absorbed in the show. I loved the fountain show where the fountain was playing to the music so prettily that I almost cried. I wished the show had been endless. All those lasers projected from different directions and the water fountain danceing to the music were perfect chemistry. I realized why visitors ranked Sentosa as the No.1 attraction in Singapore.
Is is impossible to completely experience Sentosa Island within a day, There are a lot of places showing off their beauty.
Streets near the city hall were always crowded with people mostly because it is the downtown. A magnificent tall building stands in the area. The building is Esplanade, but people casually call it 'Durian' because it looks like the tropical fruit, durian.
Singapore is known as a multiracial nation. Many districts are named after the races which form Singapore's population. There are 'Little India' , 'Arab Street' and China Town, and so on, and I thought we should conceive a different way of making up a nation. Various races and cultures may coexist in harmony and represent one country. I felt the I traveled not only to Singapore, but also to other countries through this trip.
I wanted to stay longer but soon decided to leave Singapore at the very time when I thought it was too short a trip for the long-time good memory. A trip encourages us to seek another trip. That statement fits me. I happen to be addicted to travel. I'd still hungry for another long trip. I'd like to save enough money to go on a backpacking trip. Next time, it won't be a short trip, but a long travel. I learned a lot of things to Singapore. It encouraged me to challenge my future.
