-Who are the next representatives of JNU Students?

Year 2010, in early daybreak on November 17th, the results of General Student Body and General Woman Student Body have been announced. From November 1st to 15th, for two weeks, fierce and passionate election campaign had been going on.
As a result, 'Knock. Knock. Knock(Ddok. Ddok. Ddok: Being a skillful, being a perfect and being a smart student)' and 'Yeoboseyo(Look at the Women)' beat their rivals, 'T.O.P(The Ordinary People)' and 'Women Sense', and finally were elected as in General Student Body and General Woman Student Body. So, The Islander met to hear their resolution.

2011 General Student Body, 'Knock Knock Knock'

Student President - Hyun, Yong-tak (Dept. of Horticulture, Senior)
Student Vice President - Park, Byeong-joon (Dept. of Business Administration, Senior)

Q1. How do you like being elected as the General Student Body?
We think "We only just started" rather than felt relieved. So we are in a serene state of mind. It's true that the General Student Body should represent ten thousand of JNU students, but we think that the representative of JNU students are just you . Representative of a student body is ten thousand student. We want to say "Thank you for all your support and trust." to all fellow students.

Q2. Do you have any special thing you could get during this election?
It is true that we had less time to eat and sleep during about two months of the election , so we were little bit hard. However when would we have such a great experience? It can be only possible in a adventurous and ambitious college life. We had a good experience and also got the most valuable gift so-called 'fellow students' precious votes'.

Q3. Of what campaign promises would you like to carry out at first in 2011?
We want to install rain-protecting roofs at all the bus stops in JNU. It is first of our promises. Every rainy day, we could find some students who were waiting for a bus in the rain. Also some students, taking shelter from rain in a building, suddenly rush on a bus when the bus comes. It's really dangerous. Finally, we decided to install rain-protecting roofs for convenience and safety of fellow students.

Q4. Do you have any message to give to JNU students?
Being elected as the General Student Body would mean that many students trusted us a lot. We will do our best to repay the students' confidence by keeping our promises. Also we will try to be good with students and to approach them friendly.
We want to say to all the students, 'we love you.'

2011 General Woman Student Body, 'Yeoboseyo'

General Woman Student President - Yang Hye-gyeong(Dept. of Home Management)
General Woman Student Vice President - Park Geun-yang(Dept. of Accounting, Senior)

Q1. How do you like being elected as the General Woman Student Body?
We, Yeoboseyo, did our best to work as the members of General Woman Student Body during a short period of election campaign. Though it was an arduous journey for us to win the election, we'd like to attribute this great honor to our friends who endeavored together with us. From now on, we promise to work hard to make what 'Yeoboseyo' dreamed come true for 5,000 JNU woman students.

Q2. Do you have any special thing you could get during this election?
We made many precious friends during the period of the election. We received great help from them, and it encouraged me to get over hard times. I will never forget the precious times that I spent with them for preparing this election.

Q3. Of what campaign promises would you like to carry out at first in 2011?
We'd like to provide business card-sized campus circular bus timetable with JNU's 2011 freshmen. It will be helpful not only for freshmen but also for undergraduates as the circular bus timetable changes in every beginning of new terms. With this handy timetable, JNU students can easily check on the bus arrival times at anywhere they want.

Q4. Do you have any message to give to JNU students?
We think JNU General Woman Student Body does not solidify its position in JNU yet. In order to solve this problems, we will strengthen the bond with woman students. We decided to run for pursuing the woman students' welfare and benefits so, we will carry out our promises based on these fields. Also we will go on trying to make opportunities to contact woman students with an attitude and won't forget our first intention.

The Islander look forward to the next year, hoping that these two students' Representatives will fulfill their campaign pledges for ten thousand JNU students.
