Five candidates have shown their decision for running for the 9th Jeju-NU presidential election, which will be held on this upcoming Sept. 16.

The current president, Huh Hyang-Jin, is also running for this election, stating, “I have tried for the development of the school through interacting with anyone related with the school. I want to be evaluated in this election.”

Other candidates are Ko Young-Chul from Journalism and Public Relations, Kim Doo-Chul from Physics, Kim Jong-Hoon from English Education, and Yang Young-Chul from Administration.

Meanwhile, due to the abolition of direct election, the 9th school president will be elected by the presidential candidate recommendation committee comprising 48 members. The committee will select the final two candidates through indirect election. The Minister of Education will finally choose the school president by Dec. 16.

The chairman of the committee stated, ”the election date will be set by the third meeting on Sept. 30. We will try to make a fair and clean election without false propaganda.”
