Jeju-NU Residential Office will plan to adopt a limited optional meal plan from the second semester. There will be a few options designed by the residential office from which residential students in the school dormitory can choose based on their preference. Instead of the current meal plan, there will be options like 30-days, 50-days, 80-days and everyday choices where students have meals with different prices for those amounts of days during a semester.
An employee from the residential office stated through an interview that this limited optional meal plan will be expected to cover both the interest of the residential office and the students. He mentioned, “A lot of the residents think that they are wasting their money for this current meal plan because although they do not have breakfast or dinner, they have to pay for them. However, like the office keeps insisting, the quality of the meals could be lowered while the price of them will be increased in order to make ends meet. As the school needs a certain size of business to run and the students want to have more flexible and reasonable meal plans, we came up with this limited optional meal plan.”
The final decision and detailed plan will be made between the end of June and the beginning of July. He said, “We cannot expect what result will come out at this point, but we hope for the best.”
