The 8th Jeju Forum was held at Haevichi Hotel & Resort from May 29 to May 31. The institute of Peace Studies and the Center for International affairs conducted simultaneous sessions for Jeju-NU on the opening day, May 29. The subject of the Institute of Peace Studies' session was ‘Peace and university education of East Asia’. Huh Hyang-Jin (Jeju-Nu, President) delivered a keynote address and had a discussion. He said, “As much as acquiring knowledge and skills, peace, human rights and democracy are broad principals of education. Among these, peace is an essential task for the win-win coexistence of East Asia.” Ha added, “East Asia is the area where conflict and cooperation both exist. To achieve peace, sociocultural activity is necessary. I am sure we can practice that by university education.”

The subject of the Center for International Affairs session was ‘East Asia via university forum’. Kang Young-Hun (Center for International Affairs, Director) hosted and Kenjima Hukumi (Nagasaki University, Professor), Emi Tamba (University of Sunshine Coast, Director of International Exchange), Reed Way Dasenbrock (University of Hawaii, Director of Educational Affairs), Zhang Chen (Wuhan University, officer) participated in presentation and discussion.
