An opening event was held for the Global Teachers University (GTU) Project (Vice President Kim Ik-Sang, Project Director) in General Education Hall on Dec. 23.
The Project plans to cooperate with the Jeju English Education City International Schools through faculty and staff participation in educational support.
In addition, the GTU Project explores (1) multiple awarding of academic degrees with overseas universities, (2) providing support for overseas student training and laboratory opportunities and (3) helping the participant students to earn overseas teachers' certificates and their employment.
The event was attended by President Huh Hyang-Jin and other university officials. Jeju NU was designated as a GTU participant institution by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea last July.
