Jeju-NU College of Social Sciences Public Administration Senior Kim Jong-Oh and College of Veterinary Medicine Senior An Soo-Bin have been named the 2013 Republic of Korea Persons of Year” at a Sejong Cultural Center ceremony on December 18.

Mr. Kim and Ms. An each received a ROK Presidential Medal, along with a stipend of 3 million won.

Mr. Kim manages his own and well known as a speaker on university campuses.

During the past four years, he spoke at Yonsei, Ehwa Women’s and other schools including high schools about △how to make good presentation △reading △dream △storytelling and other topics.

Ms. An has an outstanding academic record in her course work. She has also been an active research participant, having authored an SCI-level scientific journal as a main author. She is expecting to hear about her second paper for its acceptance. During the past two years, she has presented 21 papers at various domestic and international scientific conferences.

She has been active as Jeju-NU representation in IVSA (International Veterinary Student Association) and in volunteer program in UNESCO sponsored projects in Germany. For her outstanding contribution to the 2012 industrial community contest, she received a CJ Nanum Foundation Award.

Ms. An hopes to work at an international agency for the promotion of public health and environment.
