Jeju-NU’s Female Student Assembly Sogongneu is currently recruiting both male and female students for the University Stadium Wall Painting Project from April 20 to 24. The subtitle for this project is “소공녀GOGO장!” which defines, “time may pass but seasons do not.”

Continuing with what the student body left off since last year, the purpose of this activity is to repaint the stadium walls to make it appealing with vibrant designs painted by an estimate of 400 volunteers. About 20 to 40 volunteers are selected from each department.

Kang Bum-Seok (English Language and Literature, 2) comments, “I have been looking forward to this activity because our stadium had been monotonous for quite some time. This project is really a good opportunity to change just that. I hope we all will have fun pitching in.”

Spearheaded by the Head of the Facility Installation Hwang Ji-Young, this project has been ongoing since last year. According to The Islander’s source, the exact budget for this program has not been finalized. However, the Assembly has an estimate fund of 10 million won that they received from Sogongneu itself and Sangsanguniv, 5 million won each. A committee member confirmed that all the remaining regions will be painted on May 2.

There is no requirement to apply for this creative volunteer activity. Anyone can enlist oneself through the designated personnel from one’s own department.

The Head of the Facility Installation Hwang Ji-Young states, “This is a unique experience for everyone, I hope you join in the cause”.
