Humanities Concert at Jeju-NU Ara Muse Hall

On April 23, Shinsegae Knowledge Feast Concert took place at Jeju-NUAra Muse Hall with guest speaker HanHyong-Jo, Professor of Philosophy at the Academy of Korean studies and stringquartette, Quartette X.

Shinsegae‘Knowledge Feast’ is a concert that promotes the study of humanities.With their mission to ‘revive humanities’ in Korea, Shinsegae corporation holds concerts all over the country with humanities related lectures, performances and offer potential “youth heroes” the chance to travel and experience European culture.

Prof. Han, an expert in Oriental Classics gave his lecture on the value of education, especially in humanities. He emphasized the importance of not learning for other but learning just for yourself.
 
Last but not least was the introducing of Shinsegae’s Youth Heroes organization. Jeju-NU students who attended this concert are noweligibleto sign up to be a Shinsegae Youth Hero and go on a European grand tour with other college students. Applicants must first clear two missions, one involving an assessment test and then taking part of a humanities workshop hosted by Shinsegae Corporation.
