Students have voiced discomfort when using Jeju-NU’s shuttle bus.

So-Ara, Jeju-NU’s student council held a survey about the shuttle bus problems and according to the survey, many students were dissatisfied with the punctuality of the bus drivers.

In the survey, a student said, “The buses do not arrive on time according to schedule. They are too either late or too early.”

Students also commented on the bus drivers’ attitudes such as, “They drive too fast and they lose their temper to the students when there are too many people on the bus.”

There was even a case when, “The bus did not drop passengers off at the main gate stop so I was late for class.”

So-Ara said they had met with the school bus company, Hana Tour, with the complaints.

According to Hana Tour, “The education of driving operations such as punctuality will be taught again. Also, the drivers probably must have lost their temper due to stress caused by disorderly contact of the students.”

A Jeju-NU student, that asked to stay anonymous said, “I felt the buses run a lot better than last year. But concerning the operation service, there still remains a great deal of inconvenience.”

The Jeju-NU General Affairs Office is in charge of the school shuttle bus. According to the General Affairs Office Administrator Pyo Seong-Cheol, “They have been responsible for the campus shuttle bus affairs for only 14 days.”

He also said, “The changing of the Hana Tour drivers was often the issue and Hana Tour should lessen student complaints through better communication with the students.”
