Jeju National University students have been participating in a program called JNU E-Buddy organized by the Office of International Affairs, Jeju National University. The JNU E-Buddy program helps exchange students to adapt to Korean university life quickly. This program provides great help to international exchange students in campus life, such as registering for classes and guiding them to use in-school facilities effectively. Through this program, various linguistic and cultural exchanges are taking place among these students. Therefore, it has demonstrated amply that Jeju University students’ global mind has been cultivated in a variety of ways. Moon Eun-ji, a student majoring in Japanese literature participated in this program last year and did a lot of activities with her Japanese buddy. Through this program, she was able to understand different cultures through her Japanese buddy and since she had had a long-standing interest in Japan, she was extremely satisfied to learn more about Japanese life in general. In another case, Joo Seong-woo, a student majoring in Japanese Literature also participated in this program for the extra points in applying for his chance as an exchange student. He usually helps his Japanese buddy to study Korean.

JNU E-buddy is selected every February and August and the appointment lasts for a semester. E-Buddy program also gives additional points when Korean students apply for exchange semesters abroad in turn. Therefore, any Korean student who is interested in foreign cultures is highly encouraged to participate in the JNU E-Buddy program. Since the opportunity to learn not only language but foreign cultures is available on site, it would be a good decision for all to seize this unique opportunity.
