The 3rd Jeju Biennale began on November 16 and will end on February 12 next year. It started with the search for artistic practice towards global symbiosis in our era of the climate crisis when geological concepts are newly raised. Biennale is a large international exhibition held every two years.

"Flowing Moon'' is a concept that captures the direction of what people's coexistence should be in this era: it lies in restoring nature's circulation and material itality. The phrase “Embracing Land” expresses the relational behavior of creatures. Therefore, the theme contains the coexistence of ethics and tolerance in a world where everything is interconnected through nature. Jeju, which has a unique history and culture due to its climate and diverse ecological environments, is an appropriate place to discuss the topic.

The Biennale takes place in six different locations where Jeju’s topography and ecology are connected to human time and events. Two main venues of the exhibition are the Jeju Museum of Art and the Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art. Furthermore, satellite venues are scheduled at Samseonghyeol Shrine, International Peace Center Jeju, Next Door to the Museum Jeju, and Gapado AiR.

Apart from the exhibition, there are a variety of prepared programs. First of all, discussion of the theme is held in the “International Curator Talk.” Also, there is a liberal arts course to help expand the understanding of the event.

Activites that children or families can participate in is reciting and drawing with the artists. For experiential programs, children can make sculpture works with artist Hwang Sueyon, who is participating in the Biennale. In addition, a VR experience program that deals with the theme ‘Hyper-Nature Jeju,’ will be displayed from December 22 to 23.
