Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and founder of Space X, has announced that he aims to move to Mars by 2026, warning that global warming and population growth will cause humanity to become extinct. Why did he choose Mars as another planet for humanity? First, Mars is very similar to Earth. Not only does it have evidence of water on its surface, but it also has four seasons and a 24.5-hour day, just like Earth. Its atmosphere also contains elements like carbon dioxide and nitrogen, and it's within reach of the sun's energy. However, many people believe that moving to Mars is impossible because of the risk of solar flares and the presence of dust storms on the Red Planet. In addition, there is no oxygen on Mars, and its magnetic field is very weak and cannot block the sun's radiation. The most fundamental problem is that a trip to Mars would take at least six months each way, and the amount of fuel that would be consumed to return is enormous, and the oxygen to burn the fuel would need to be carried in even greater quantities. Right now, it's not even easy to fit the massive amounts of fuel and oxygen needed for a round-trip to Mars into a giant spacecraft. Therefore, moving to Mars is not feasible at this time. Nevertheless, people are interested in moving to Mars and are investing a lot of money in research. Scientists are preparing to move to another planet. It is hoped that their challenging spirit will open up possibilities in the distant future.
