Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has announced that the theme of the 18th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity will be "Working Together for Sustainable Peace and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific". The forum will take place from May 31 to June 2 at the Jeju International Convention Center, and will focus on the growing strategic importance of the Indo-Pacific region in a time of global crisis and transition. The event intends to prioritize the various kinds of cooperation among Indo-Pacific nations and to investigate practical solutions for bringing about lasting peace and prosperity in the area.

The conference will include regionally arranged sessions, such as "Korea-U.S.," "Korea-China-Japan," and "Korea-ASEAN-Arab," to discuss about various future-oriented cooperation measures among nations. A significant vision for a comprehensive strategic relationship will also be discussed at the event, which will also be held in conjunction with the Korea-U.S. alliance's 70th anniversary.

The Youth Secretariat will also host a session on "Jeju's Future as Envisioned by Young People in the Indo-Pacific Era," to discuss the role and status of Jeju in the region. In addition, as part of efforts to expand exchanges and cooperation beyond ASEAN, the Jeju Provincial Government plans to invite ambassadors from ASEAN and Arab countries to share and disseminate policy ideas for the "ASEAN Plus Alpha" initiative, which aims to enhance exchanges and cooperation between Jeju and those regions.
