The JNU gym will reopen on April 13 after its remodeling process. The gym was closed from April 6 until now for the ceiling change work in the locker room. This is a sports facility for students, including the international students. And they can use all the facilities for free except the lockers. The gym is open from 9 am to 6 pm, except on weekends.

However, it is closed to the public every Thursday from 1 pm to 3 pm, as a regular class is held at that time. The users should leave 20-minutes before the class begins and can enter again after 10 minutes when the class is over. When users enter the gym, they must scan in their JNU mobile ID card and sign their name in the visitors’ book. The usage card is the same one that is used when entering the library. Personal towels, sneakers, and shower supplies must be brought when using the facilities.

Exercising barefoot or wearing slippers are prohibited. In response, some students expressed their opinion that it is inconvenient to carry the exercise paraphernalia all the time back and forth to the gym. They expressed hope that the gym would provide towels and clothes that students can pay for.

Meanwhile, users should clean the facilities that they use for the next users. Lockers are available but are restricted from being locked with personal locks or locked with keys that students can take away. JNU gym usage was suspended due to concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19 and contract problem with private companies but began operating in March this year.
