The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Korea Tourism Organization, announced on June 17 that it will promote "Travel Month 2023" during the month of June. The theme of this year's Travel Month is “Korea is on a Great Trip”.

It is meant to encourage people to complete their own travel bucket lists by traveling to every corner of Korea and become protagonists of a movie-like journey, the ministry explained. During this period, various discounts will be offered, including up to 50 percent off transportation, 30,000 won to 50,000 won off accommodations, and 10,000 won off theme parks.

Those who take advantage of the offer can save up to 50 percent on fares for KTX and six sightseeing trains that combine tourism products. Local airline tickets, city tour buses, and rental cars on five domestic routes are also available at discounted rates.

The official website of the 'Month of Travel' offers special travel programs for all generations, including family travelers, MZ generation, and middle-aged and elderly people, through the 'Travel Trend Hall'. Online and offline events will also be held in conjunction with the 'Travel Month'.

The Youth Tourism Competition (Travel League) will be held, which collects bright travel ideas from Generation MZ and gives them the opportunity to experience actual travel. In addition, the Sharing Trip, which allows underprivileged people to experience barrier-free travel around open tourist destinations will also be executed.
