“Public Education Stop Day” was designated on September 4, which also happened to be the 49th Day Ceremony of the Seoi Elementary School teacher’s death. People came from all around the nation to show their respect for the deceased teacher and to get behind the reinstatement of educational authority.

On that significant day, many parents voluntarily enrolled their children in experiential learning programs. They rejected sending their children to school to show support for the teachers. However, on the day of the planned pause in public education, some dual-income families expressed concerns about the educational gap. Despite these concerns, the gap in the education field was successfully addressed through scholarship assistance and combined classes.

The teaching profession has been perceived as socially and economically stable. However, the suicide of the teacher in question forced a lot of people to face the problems at hand. Such as purposeful complaints from parents and violations of educational authority have come to the forefront.

This year’s Public Education Stop Day expects not only that teachers will be appreciated as dedicated professionals, but also that people will take an active interest in laws protecting the educational authority.

It is still said that public education has failed. Rather than succumbing to criticisms, we should constantly monitor and find a direction for education. Only public education which undergoes constant revision will establish a democracy to create a better future for our children.
