Dorm curfew is an ongoing debate. Currently, our dormitory is off-limits between the hours of 1-5 am. Students are divided over this.

Student A, who has lived in the dormitory for two years said, "Even with a curfew, people often come in after curfew by talking loudly late at night or asking someone to open the door for them. The room close to the entrance may be disturbed by the noise caused by it." The student also added that "the noise problem is still serious even now when there is a curfew, and if the curfew is eliminated, the right to sleep can be seriously violated. Also, safety problems may arise due to failure to curtail access to outsiders," expressing concern about the many practical issues that would arise after curfews were eliminated.

On the other hand, there were opinions that the dorm curfew violates personal freedom.

B, a first-year resident, said, "My part-time job ends late. Because of the curfew, I have to ask my roommates or friends if they can open the door for me from the inside. I feel bad about asking my friends every time.". In addition, he said, "If it is open 24 hours a day rather than asking others to open it during the curfew, the friend may not have to open the door, so he may not disturb his rest and sleep." He didn't think it was right for the dormitory to interfere with his personal activities when he is actually paying to live in the dormitory.

Considering these responses, the dorm conducted a demand survey among residents last month to pilot a 24-hour access to Dormitory 4. Regardless of whether the pilot program is successful or not, the conflict is expected to continue.
