The schedule of the student general election to lead JNU in 2024 was posted on the student body Harmony Instagram. Related to the election, the registration period of candidates was finished in October. Registering is progressed via the Hayoung Dreamy portal site. After registering, the candidate should submit signature letters of presenters and list of campaign headquarters. The list submission of campaign headquarters have been underway since October 6 and will continue until November 14th. From October 23rd to the 27th, the launch ceremony to introduce the candidates was held, and full-out electioneering started on the 30th. The official student council candidates are Jeongjin and Sangsang. The student general election will be held on the 15th, after the electioneering ends on the 14th. The elected council will begin activities in 2024. If elected as a general student council, they should manage the official student council, share regular meeting resolutions, and also hold large events such as the JNU festival and the Ara Sports festival. The candidate’s pledges were announced during the electioneering and students must vote carefully after considering which council is best for JNU. During the election period, students should not be blinded by rumors, and respond sensitively in the process of distinction between truth and falsity. Currently, JNU’s student council, Harmony, has been in charge of various events as a general student council for the year 2023.
