From next year, all credit cards issued in South Korea will be include Braille on them. Up until now, some credit card companies did not issue Braille cards, causing many inconveniences for the visually impaired. This lack of consideration for the visually impaired is causing difficulties in their lives. Schools also need to pay attention to and support the lives of blind students.

Among the school's facilities and programs for visually impaired students, the most well-known is the handrail with Braille. The walls of the Humanities Center have beige railings with Braille on them. This was installed to reduce the inconvenience of moving around for visually impaired students. There is also a support center for students with disabilities. They have different types of tools and equipment that can be used by these students, like daisy voice players and portable reading magnifiers available for rent on the second floor of the Student Center.

However, there are still some things that could be improved. Firstly, facilities such as the braille handrails are not installed in all buildings. Even in the liberal arts building, there are no handrails near the stairs, which can lead to serious injuries.

Moreover, all around school there are also damaged sidewalk blocks. Sidewalk blocks are meant to guide the visually impaired. However, if they are broken, visually impaired people might get lost or injured if there are obstacles. JNU has implemented various programs to help students with disabilities. However, there is a clear lack of facilities for visually impaired students. If both the school and students think about the perspective of visually impaired students and raise their voices, everyone can have a safe and comfortable school life.
