On June 4th, the 1st Global Supporters had a launching ceremony at the JNU Foreign Language Institute. For the first time, the ‘Global Supporters club’ was introduced to have a better understanding between international students and domestic students and to help foreign students with their overall campus life.

Since then, the volunteers have held events such as a picnic to Hamdeok beach and Global Lounge decoration. Especially, with the beginning of the second semester, various programs have been taking place at the Global Lounge, which is on the third floor of Foreign Language Institute. Every Tuesday, Professor Eric, who is the captain of the Global Supporters club, is having ‘English Discussion and Debate Night’. The discussion topic changes every week, such as language learning, happiness, etc.

The club members also held a variety of events like ‘Online Movie Night,’ ‘Tips for Korean Life,’ ‘Casual Korean Language,’ ‘Jeju Culture Night,’ ‘Dance Party,’ ‘Welcome Party,’ and more. Students can check the event schedule from the Instagram stories of JNU Office of International Affairs (ID: oia.jnu). To register for the events, one just needs to email or contact the leader of each event, and it is on a first-come-first-served basis.
