From the beginning of this semester, JNU introduced a new website, JNU Class, rather than continuing to use JNU e-Learning Center. The Islander had an interview with Ko Myoung-Ja, Chief of JNU Distance Education Center regarding this change

Q. We wonder about the development purpose of the new web, JNU Class.

A. In fact, there were many problems with the e-Learning Center website. The biggest problem was the interworking of the JNU ID and Webex programs. Most of the non-faceto-face lectures were conducted using Webex. Therefore, there were many professors who bought Zoom, which typically has fewer errors, at their own expense and gave lectures. This was the same when taking tests. However, along with the development of this new site, JNU signed a contract with the developer of the Zoom program, improving the accessibility of anyone with a JNU ID.

Q. What is a noticeable change when comparing JNU Class to e-Learning Center?

A. When developing JNU Class, we paid attention to make it easier for students and professors to manage their classes. It may be confusing and unfamiliar because it has not been long since people used the site yet. However, if you get used to it, this site will be much more convenient than the e-Learning Center site. We will add manuals in foreign languages soon, such as English and Chinese, and try to make websites easier and more convenient by accepting students’ opinions.
