On July 13, an agreement on the 4th BTL (Build Transfer Lease) was signed. The agreement included the construction of the 7th dorm. Accordingly, there will be changes regarding the operation and the maximum capacity of dormitories from next semester. It will be constructed after demolishing the old buildings.

The 1st dorm and building B of the 2nd·3rd dorm will be demolished by July 2023. Building A of the 2nd·3rd dorm will be closed to prevent safety accidents until July 2024. Therefore, only the 4th·5th·6th dorms will operate as usual.

Meanwhile, the 5th dorm, which is now a women’s dormitory, will become a coed dormitory. The Administrative Office of Dormitories clarified that there will be changes in operation methods due to the number and gender ratio of the applicants. They will decide and announce the exact method before the next semester.

The total capacity of the dormitory this semester was 2,828. However, it will be reduced to 1,992 from next semester and then it will go up to 2,736 from the second semester of 2023, which is the year when the construction is expected to be completed.

The management of the 7th dorm will start from July 2023. The number of men’s lodgings is 223 and for women’s lodgings is 227. Eight rooms will be allotted to the disabled of each gender. All rooms are double rooms, and the total number of rooms is 450, which can accommodate up to 900 people.

Affiliated facilities include a restaurant, a convenience store, and a waste storage room. The restaurant will be operated in a food court style, accommodating up to 300 people. Not only the dormitory residents but other customers can come and eat at the restaurant as long as they pay for their meal. A shared laundry room, a courier warehouse, and seminar rooms will also be built for students. Also, a total of 64 cars can be parked in the parking lot.
