One of the things that represents Jeju are Mandarins because most of the mandarins in Korea are cultivated in Jeju. Jeju promotes itself by making a variety of products and activities with these mandarins. There will be something related to these fruits anywhere there are tourists. Therefore, one of the most famous local activities tourists can try is mandarin picking.

The time of the harvest differs for each kind of mandarin, but the most common harvest season is between November to December. Many of the mandarin farms will open harvest events to attract tourists. After, they will also have baking sessions where you can bake desserts with the fruits you picked with your own hands.

Here a r e two mandar in farms near campus where you can try picking yourself. Mikkang storage, located in Aewol is a café that also has mandarin picking activities. Reservations are not available, and the entrance fee for only taking pictures is 3,000 won. If you want to pick the mandarins the fee will be 10,000 won total, and it contains the price for a full container of mandarins that will contain about three to four kilograms. Eating fruits during the activity is banned. The place is also known for its beautiful scenery, so even if mandarin picking is not your cup of tea, enjoying the scenery of Jeju might. The 455 bus stops near the place and it will take about an hour from the entrance of our campus.

Analog mandarin farm, located in haean-dong has a very different way of setting up fees. The cost of the activity is 7,000 won and it contains one kilogram of mandarins, but you can eat as much as you want inside the farm. You can only go inside the farm if you are picking the mandarins. If you take the bus from the entrance of our school, it will take about an hour, and you will still need to walk a bit to the farm. Both places have pros and cons so picking the right place that matches your style will be important.
