Jeju-NU opened a volunteer project of medical, educational and cultural services for children and residents of the Philippines.

Six professors(prof. Kim Sung-Yeop, director) from the school of medicine and 20 students (Nine students from the school of medicine, four student from the College of Nursing, seven people from other colleges), held the project in Iloilo, one of the most poorly developed areas, from July 25 till July 30.

The project members were divided into two teams of medical and general services. The medical team provided Korea’s advanced medical care services of general surgery, internal medicine treatment, prescription medicine, physical therapy, general treatment and dental care (fluorine application) to the children and residents from Iloilo. The general service team provided educational and cultural services of balloon art, recreation activities, face painting with various designs including Taeguk pattern, and handkerchief making with young kids from Cebu and Iloilo.

Jeju-NU facilitates cultural exchange and active international exchanges by promoting a sense of unity in the global community through volunteering internationally, increasing a sense of responsibility as medical professionals or society members and promoting Korea’s advanced medical care services.
