Korean Language Culture Center at Jeju-NU established the Jeju Regional Language Center to preserve and diffuse Jeju regional language.

The Korean Language Culture Center (director, Kang Young-Bong) at Jeju-NU established the Jeju Regional Language Center to preserve and diffuse Jeju regional language which is gradually disappearing. The opening ceremony was held in Room 8229, the second floor of building number 1, College of Humanities on Aug. 4, 2011.

The Jeju Regional Language Center plans to carry out projects such as data collecting and research, source book publication, and education and advice, on Jeju regional language.

Until now recording and studying activities of Jeju regional language had been carried out at the Korean Language Culture Center; those functions were transferred to the Jeju Regional Language Center.

The Jeju Regional Language Center is to publish Dictionary of Jeju Regional Language's Postposition and Ending (co-authors, Hyun Pyeong-Hyo, Kang Young-Bong) as its first project. This book is based on the cards left by the late Hyeon Pyeong-Hyo (former Jeju-Nu's president), who devoted his life to the study of Jeju regional language. Along with the cards passed down from his family, a collection of data by both Hyun Pyeong-Hyo and his former student, Prof. Kang Young-Bong, will be published into book form.
