The 3rd Jeju French Film Festival was held for three days from Nov. 2 to 4 at Jeju-NU's Ara Muse Hall and Movie Culture Art Center.  The festival's theme was ‘Echo of Images (Les images résonnent)’. Fourteen movies were played there. There were five detailed themes; Piano and Image's Cadenza, Tempo of History, Resonance, Musical and Incarnation of Passion. The 3rd Jeju French Film Fesival started with the opening movie ‘Paris 36 (Faubourg 36)’ and ended with closing movie ‘The Passionate Life of Edith Piaf (La vie en rose)’ This French Film Festival was hosted by the Jeju French Film Festival Executive Committee (Chairperson Ko Young-Lim). This Festival was sponsored by the Embassy of France in Korea (La France en Corée) and Institute of French Culture (Institut Français de Corée).

 

Daniel Kapelian, who takes the responsibility of image interchange, talked about ‘Paris 36 (Faubourg 36)’ at Ciné Talk with the audience and Ko Young-Lim.

Music Critic, Jin Hoe-Suk, talked about ‘The King is Dancing (Le Roi Danse)’ and ‘Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky’ and a singer Jang Ho-Jin talked about ‘The Music Teacher (Le maitre de musique)’ at the Ciné Talk. There was a celebration concert at Jeju-NU's Ara Muse Hall. Ensembles and singers sang operas and played piano and percussion.

 

Daniel Olivier, a director of Institute of French Culture (Institut Français de Corée) said, “I am glad that we had the chance to exchange a lot of ideas and our surrounding word with each other..”
