With the 32rd TOPIK examination on Oct. 22, this year's TOPIK examinations have come to an end. From next year, the new policies of the TOPIK examination will be released and designed to be more focused on the understanding of Korean. The new TOPIK examination will be increased to five times every year.

TOPIK examination as a test to check the foreign students
level of Korean is organized by the Korea Institute for International Korean Education. According to the Korean Ministry of Education, after 2011 enrolled undergraduate students should at least get TOPIK level 4 before graduation. However, because Jeju-NU only offers a TOPIK intermediate (3, 4) remedial class for language students, many undergraduate students do not know how to prepare for the examination. This leads them to postpone the exam at will and some students even take the exam improperly.

In order to improve this undesirable phenomenon, Jeju-NU International Exchange Center started the "Outstanding Korean Achievements Scholarship" from 2012. But in fact the scholarship policy is not enough to awaken the enthusiasm of the students for the exam.
